FIRST THINGS FIRST

How To Connect

To iPhone/iPad?

NOTE: Do not connect NMSVE in your devices Bluetooth settings. If you have already done this, you must unpair it. ⚠️

  1. Turn NMSVE on via the switch on the backside of the device.
  2. The green LED will illuminate prompting you to select a channel by pressing the corresponding button (button1 = channel 1, button 2 = channel 2, etc...).
  3. NMSVE should now be flashing its blue connect LED - meaning that it is searching for a device to connect to (once connected the LED will go solid).
  4. On your device, determine whether the app you'd like to use natively supports BLE MIDI.
  5. If it does, find the BLE MIDI setting within the app and connect to NMSVE to begin using it as a regular MIDI device.
  6. If it doesn't, download MIDImatic from the Apple Appstore.
  7. Open MIDImatic and connect NMSVE. You can map the buttons and knob here before proceeding if desired.
  8. Open the application you'd like to use NMSVE with - NMSVE should now be connected as a regular MIDI device.

To Mac?

  1. Turn NMSVE on via the switch on the backside of the device.
  2. The green LED will illuminate prompting you to select a channel by pressing the corresponding button (button1 = channel 1, button 2 = channel 2, etc...).
  3. NMSVE should now be flashing its blue connect LED - meaning that it is searching for a device to connect to (once connected the LED will go solid).
  4. Open Audio MIDI Setup on your Mac via Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup. 
  5. From the Taskbar choose Window > Show MIDI Studio
  6. From the MIDI Studio Taskbar choose MIDI Studio > Open Bluetooth Configuration
  7. From this window find NMSVE from the discoverable devices section and press connect.
  8. Open the application you'd like to use NMSVE with - NMSVE should now function as a regular MIDI device.

To Android?

NOTE: Do not connect NMSVE in your phones Bluetooth settings. If you have already done this, you must unpair it. ⚠️

  1. Turn NMSVE on via the switch on the backside of the device.
  2. The green LED will illuminate prompting you to select a channel by pressing the corresponding button (button1 = channel 1, button 2 = channel 2, etc...).
  3. NMSVE should now be flashing its blue connect LED - meaning that it is searching for a device to connect to (once connected the LED will go solid).
  4. On your Android device determine whether the Android App you'd like to use natively supports BLE MIDI.
  5. If it does, find the BLE MIDI setting within the app and connect to NMSVE to begin using it as a regular MIDI device.
  6. If it doesn't, download MIDI BLE Connect or MIDI Connector from the Google Play Store.
  7. Open one of the apps in step 6 and connect NMSVE, keep the app running in the background.
  8. Open the application you'd like to use NMSVE with - NMSVE should now be connected as a regular MIDI device. 

To Windows 10?

  1. Turn NMSVE on via the switch on the backside of the device.
  2. The green LED will illuminate prompting you to select a channel by pressing the corresponding button (button1 = channel 1, button 2 = channel 2, etc...).
  3. NMSVE should now be flashing its blue connect LED - meaning that it is searching for a device to connect to (once connected the LED will go solid).
  4. On your Windows device follow the steps to download loopMIDI and MIDIberry.
  5. After the downloads are complete, open loopMIDI and add a port via the plus sign in the bottom left corner. After this is complete you can close loop MIDI and it will keep running in the background.
  6. From your Windows settings go to "Bluetooth & other devices", select "Add Bluetooth or other device" and connect to NMSVE from the dropdown menu.
  7. Open MIDIberry and select NMSVE as the input and loopMIDI as the output. Leave MIDIberry open.
  8. Open the app you'd like to use NMSVE with and connect to the loopMIDI port within the apps MIDI settings - NMSVE should now function as a regular MIDI device.

Overview of NMSVEs Hardware

Hardware

The Buttons

Noise Machine (NMSVE) utilizes the 12 buttons as 12 separate MIDI notes

The Bank Slider

Noise Machine (NMSVE) uses the slider to cycle between banks for the 12 buttons.

There are 7 banks in total, allowing for 84 unique MIDI notes.

The Knob

Noise Machine (NMSVE)'s knob can be mapped in software to control effects.

POWER

The power LED indicates... that the device is getting power! ⚡

NOTE: Please use included USB C cord, as certain USB C cords WILL NOT charge the device.

CONNECT

The connect LED flashes blue when it is searching for a bluetooth device to connect to.

It goes solid once connected!

CHANNEL

The channel LED turns on when first booting up the device to prompt the user to select a channel. You select a channel by pressing a button (i.e. button 1 = channel 1, button 2 = channel 2, etc...).

The channel LED will also light up when you're on an even numbered bank.

CHARGE INDICATOR

The charge indicator is located on the right side of the device. It glows red when plugged in, indicating it is charging. It will turn green/blue when complete 🔋
