This month marked the pre-order launch of our biggest project to date (Gamma!!)... and thanks to you guys it was a huge success! 🫶
Gamma Launch Schedule
Okay, down to business 💼
We project the ship date for Gamma as August, 2025. This gives us a few months to complete the hardware, procure parts, finish the software, and build/ship these out (we do this part in-house! 🍁).
While this is a time crunch, it is well within our capability to meet this launch timeline, assuming no major delays.
Plus, in classic TIN fashion, we plan on keeping you guys updated on our progress via these monthly blog posts!
Sooo… what have we accomplished so far?
Gamma Hardware Progress
The day after pre-orders went live we were back at our computers picking up where we left off.
There are a lot of critical steps involved when bringing a product like this to life, and when you’re a small team efficiency is top priority. With this in mind, we set our sights on completing the hardware.
PCB Design
This is by far the biggest/most important step we still need to finalize. The prototype was largely a rat's nest of wires connecting everything together (amps, extra storage, etc…), and while it does function, it’s far from where we need it to be for mass production.
Our goal for this month was to get everything embedded onto the main PCB board.
Besides getting everything onto the board, the chip we’re using for the final version is also slightly different compared to the prototype. We had to reconfigure some of our PCB traces and add a boost circuit to get the voltage from the battery up to a usable level.
We also decided to add a second speaker (!), this time downwards firing to help get things a bit louder 🔊
After a couple rounds of prototype PCBs, things are close to complete! We just need to run some more tests to ensure everything is functioning correctly with minimal noise.
Aluminum Casing
As you may have seen on Gamma’s landing page (or product page), the casing for Gamma will be CNC’d out of aluminum. The casing consists of a side shell and a bottom plate, with the side shell anodized matte black and the bottom plate powder coated black.
We’re really happy with the prototype's existing side shell and no changes need to be made. The bottom plate did need some work…
We’re now waiting on the new bottom plate design to arrive to ensure everything fits correctly and the quality is up to our standards.
Carrying Case
We’ve offered carrying cases for our other products for quite some time now, but for Gamma we’ve decided to include it in the packaging! 🎉
After sending the product dimensions to our case manufacturer, they sent us a rough draft of what the case should look like. Everything looked good, so we told them to go ahead with the molding process. We're now waiting for the first samples to arrive at HQ!
Other Hardware Stuff
There are also a few smaller things we got started on:
-
Part procurement
-
Custom screen assembly
-
Thumbstick supplier
-
Knob supplier
-
Acrylic plate supplier (local! 🍁)
-
Finalization of manufacturing MCU chip/boards
-
Samples for testing
-
Battery
-
Silicone feet
While We Wait
A lot of the steps listed above are a waiting game. That’s why we strategically decided to start with the hardware so we could work on software while we wait!
June will largely consist of software work 🖥️

TIN fun fact (the more you know 🌈🌠)
I mentioned to Schuyler that I was working on a prototype MIDI Controller the weekend of the first Toronto Pedal and Synth Expo in October of 2019.
I showed Schuyler the first prototype a month or so later in the parking lot of a Pita Pit 🥙.
That parking lot is where we came up with the idea to start our own company, and decided on the name this.is.NOISE inc ✨.
